Kimberly-Clark recognised for corporate citizenship

14th March 2011

Kimberly-Clark has been included in a ranking of the world's top 100 best corporate citizens by an industry publication.

Corporate Responsibility Magazine ranked the firm eighth in its 2011 listing after assessing its performance according to the criteria of environment, climate change, human rights, philanthropy, employee relations, finance and governance.

It rated as the highest non-food consumer products company on the list and scored particularly well on its environment, human rights and philanthropy performances.

This comes after the firm was included in the FTSE4Good Index Series for the eighth year in a row, while it also recently became a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact corporate citizenship initiative.

Suhas Apte, vice-president of global sustainability at Kimberly-Clark, said: "Receiving this citation for the third consecutive year underscores our ongoing corporate commitment to sustainability and recognises the exceptional efforts of our employees worldwide."

According to the firm's most recent financial report in January 2011, Kimberly-Clark's annual sales rose by three percent year-on-year in 2010.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800460123-ADNFCR
