Bausch and Lomb announces Japan earthquake relief plan
Bausch and Lomb has announced that it is assessing plans to determine how best to assist relief efforts in Japan following the recent earthquake and tsunami.
The eye health company is activating a relief support plan to evaluate how it can offer maximum assistance to those affected with the provision of expertise, products or other services.
Brent Saunders, Bausch and Lomb's chief executive officer, stated that the impact of the disaster on its own employees in Japan is also being considered.
The firm will be looking to step in to provide affected workers and their local communities with immediate assistance where it is required.
"As a company with more than 30 years of eye health experience in Japan, we are committed to helping to respond to this enormous natural disaster," he said.
Last week, Bausch and Lomb launched a new campaign designed to raise awareness of the need for early screenings to protect children from developing vision-based impairments.
