Horiba Medical has won praise from an NHS trust for the role played by its haematology analyser technology in improving efficiency and workflow.
Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS Trust has been centralising its laboratory services to a small number of sites at Royal Oldham Hospital in recent years, creating a need for flexible and effective haematology analysis devices.
Horiba Medical was therefore able to supply the organisation with four high-throughput ABX Pentra DX 120 analysers and two ABX SPS Evolution Slide Preparation Systems, thus reducing turnaround time and better efficiency.
Michael Heaton, haematology laboratory manager for the trust, said Horiba Medical's innovations will play a key role as it looks to continue to streamline operations while maintaining performance quality.
"Their engineers and support teams are excellent and I look forward to working closely with them as they introduce future technical advances in their analytical systems," he added.
In August 2010, Horiba Medical signed a new deal to become the preferred haematology supplier to the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board for the next 15 years.
