Ark Therapeutics appoints new chief financial officer

Ark Therapeutics has announced the appointment of Russell Banks as its new chief financial officer (CFO), effective as of the beginning of this month.

Mr Banks has been selected for the role following the departure of predecessor David Bowyer, who has chosen to take up a new position at a company based in his native Zimbabwe.

The new CFO previously served as the European finance director for medical company Cephalon for more than a decade, playing a key role in the business' growth during this period.

Martyn Williams, chief executive officer of Ark Therapeutics, thanked the outgoing Mr Bowyer for his contributions, while expressing belief in the experience and expertise of Mr Banks.

"I have every confidence he will play a full part in helping us to meet our strategic objectives," he added.

Last week, the company announced that healthcare sector veteran Dr David Bloxham has taken up a role as a non-executive director on the Ark Therapeutics board.
