KCI agrees licensing deal for Graftjacket brand
KCI has signed a deal with Wright Medical Group to licence the Graftjacket brand for use in marketing its LifeCell regenerative tissue matrix.
The deal will allow KCI to label the acellular human dermal-based tissue matrix, which is designed for use with wounds such as diabetic foot ulcers and venous stasis ulcers, under the name of Graftjacket Matrix.
KCI's treatment option has been demonstrated in clinical studies to offer a high probability of healing when used as part of a standardised woundcare regimen.
It is optimised for the repair or replacement of damaged or inadequate integumental tissue and minimises the potential for a rejection response by repopulating the wound with the patient's own cells.
Mike Genau, global president of KCI active healing solutions, said: "Regenerative medicine plays a significant role in the practice of wound healing and KCI stands at the forefront of that breakthrough."
Last month, the company agreed a deal to purchase assets and intellectual property owned by patient handling technology specialist TechniMotion Medical.
