Takeda wins award for sustainability reporting
Takeda has been presented with an award recognising the high standard of its sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting.
The Green Reporting Forum has given the company first prize at its annual Sustainability Reporting Award ceremony for its Annual Report and CSR Data Book for 2010.
It builds on the third place award presented to the pharmaceutical manufacturer at last year's event.
A review committee praised Takeda for the structure and detail included in the documents, as well as highlighting the firm's success in integrating CSR issues with its business management.
In response, Takeda issued a statement saying the company intends "to step up efforts so as to produce even better reports in future, with the interests of all our stakeholders firmly in place".
Last week, the firm announced it will be allying with Amgen to conduct a worldwide phase III trial programme for the anti-cancer drug AMG 386.
