Advanced Medical Solutions opens Winsford facility

Advanced Medical Solutions has announced the official opening of a new UK facility located in Winsford, Cheshire.

The centre incorporates state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities alongside office, laboratory and warehouse space, with the facility as a whole covering 138,500 sq ft.

Its opening coincides with the 20th anniversary of the firm's founding and has been hailed as a "significant milestone" that will aid the development of its advanced woundcare business.

Dr Don Evans, chairman of Advanced Medical Solutions, said the new site will form the basis of the organisation's future growth, in addition to its existing foam facility in the Netherlands and its wound closure base in Plymouth.

"We began this major project in 2008 and I am delighted to confirm that the new facility has been completed on time and on budget," he added.

At the beginning of this month, Dr Evans left the role of chief executive officer as he seeks to move away from the day-to-day running of the business, with the position having been filled by Chris Meredith.
