Simplyhealth launches new cash plan for over-70s

Simplyhealth has launched a new cash plan offering designed to help over-70s cope with costs arising from dental and other healthcare services.

The Simply Cash Plan 70 Plus will start from just under ten pounds a month and will reimburse consumers on the full cost of visits to the dentist or optician, as well as subsidising chiropractic, physiotherapy, chiropody or podiatry treatments.

It will also offer exclusive features that are not included in the standard Simply Cash Plan, such as payments for occupational therapy and purchases of hearing aids or mobility products.

Elliot Wallace, head of product development at Simplyhealth, said the launch of the plan will help to promote independent living among the elderly in the UK.

He added: "We've developed the plan in response to demand from consumers who are looking for an affordable health cash plan with valuable benefits that catered for their age group."

Last November, Simplyhealth was voted as best health-related insurance company of 2010 at the Personal Finance Awards, following a joint vote by the public and an expert panel.
