Burson-Marsteller hires former GlaxoSmithKline comms director

11th January 2011

Burson-Marsteller has appointed Sarah Hagan as a director in its corporate, issues and technology practice.

Ms Hagan joins the media agency from GlaxoSmithKline, where she served as communications director for its European consumer healthcare division, reports PRWeek.

During her time at the company, she helped to promote leading brands such as Panadol, Aquafresh and the recently-launched Alli, as well as taking responsibility for strategy across nine regions.

She has also previously fulfilled key marketing and communications roles for Network Rail and the PR firm Weber Shandwick.

Chris Cartwright, managing director for Burson-Marsteller's corporate practice, cited Ms Hagan's experience in leading strategic initiatives, advising executives and dealing with crises as key reasons for her appointment.

"She adds significantly to the bench-strength of our growing and award-winning corporate team here at Burson-Marsteller," he added.

In November 2010, the agency made a number of changes to its senior management structure, including the appointment of Jay Leveton as its new worldwide executive vice-president.ADNFCR-8000103-ID-800335197-ADNFCR
