Bedfont Scientific celebrates Medway business award
Bedfont Scientific was named business of the year at the recent Medway Business Awards 2010.
The Rochester-based medical equipment company saw off competition from 11 other firms to claim the prize, with the judging panel praising its commitment to innovation and achievement.
Bedfont's new NObreath exhaled nitric oxide monitor product was showcased at the ceremony, where sales and marketing manager Jason Smith collected the award on behalf of the Kent company.
Managing director Trevor Smith said 2010 had been a highly productive year for Bedfont.
"We have become more profitable in a harsh economy and saving lives along the way – what an incredible story of success," he commented. "I'm looking forward to seeing what 2011 brings."
Meanwhile, judge Susan Jennings of Furley Page Solicitors applauded the firm's achievements in "making life-saving devices widely accessible".
The Medway Business Awards took place at the Priestfield Banqueting Centre, with Rob Smith of BBC South East hosting the event.
