ArthroCare has announced the launch of a new range of radiofrequency devices which allow surgeons to monitor fluid temperatures more easily when performing orthopaedic procedures.
The Ambient ArthroWand Collection includes the Ambient Super MultiVac 50, Ambient Super TurboVac 90 and Ambient CoVac 70, providing real-time temperature measurement of the circulating fluid within the arthroscopic operative environment.
They are designed to be the only product on the market which offers real-time monitoring of this kind and also work in conjunction with the Quantum 2 Controller System for monitoring saline fluids in shoulders and knees.
In addition, the wands feature an adjustable alarm set point to provide the surgeon with additional feedback.
Scott Schaffner, senior vice-president and general manager of ArthroCare Sports Medicine, said the products are "something we know many surgeons have been asking for and we're excited to be able to deliver."
Last month, the firm published its financial report for the second quarter of 2010, a period which saw ArthroCare experience year-on-year revenue growth.
