Norbrook Laboratories launches four-in-one treatment for sheep
Norbrook Laboratories has announced the UK and European launch of a new Closamectin product which provides protection for sheep against a range of conditions.
The company's new Closamectin Injection for Sheep is described as the first four-in-one injection product released in Europe for the treatment of mature and late immature fluke disease, as well as worms and external parasites.
It contains many of the same ingredients found in Norbrook's cattle product Closamectin Pour On and has been licensed in a range of different pack sizes for the treatment of animals aged seven weeks or older.
Alistair Couper, Norbrook's UK veterinary manager, said the treatment will prove beneficial to farmers whose productivity has been adversely affected by parasites and disease.
"Although most sheep farmers are treating regularly, we believe that Closamectin Injection for Sheep will be a popular alternative to traditional drenches," he added.
Norbrook launched Closamectin Pour On in September 2009, describing the product – which was developed over the course of six years – as the "Holy Grail of farm animal veterinary medicine".
