Posted on 03/09/2010 in Dental Supplier News Sirona Dental Systems is launching a new dental reconstruction material which allows natural-looking repairs to be conducted in a flexible and efficient way.
The new Vitablocs RealLife all-ceramic blocks use a spherically-curved dentin core and a complementing enamel coat to mimic the optical characteristics of real teeth, in terms of translucency, chroma and lightness.
They have been designed for use with Sirona's V3.80 software system, which allows wall thickness and restoration positioning to be easily changed, with all amendments being reviewed on-screen before milling commences.
According to Sirona, the system allows for the creation of restorations which can be seated immediately after removal from the milling machine, with no additional steps required.
"Vitablocs RealLife provide the dentist or laboratory technician with virtually unlimited options for designing anterior restorations of unsurpassed esthetic quality," said the manufacturer.
Last month, the company was announced as the winner of the iF communication design award for the EasyTouch interface of its Teneo treatment centre technology, with the accolade set to be presented later this month. Other news stories from 03/09/2010
