Posted on 01/09/2010 in Animal Health Supplier News Genitrix has launched a new toothpaste range for domestic animals, as part of its Dentagen portfolio of oral health products.
The new Dentagen toothpaste uses the plant extract RF2 to prevent the formation of dental biofilm or plaque, while eliminating the risk of damage to the enamel layer of the teeth.
It comes packaged with a finger-brush designed to make it easier for pet owners to acclimatise their animal to the concept of tooth brushing, which can be a difficult process with pets such as cats.
Rob Watkins, Genitrix's marketing director, said: "Brushing has long been recognised as the gold standard when it comes to dental healthcare, so we felt it was important for the Dentagen range to include this option."
The toothpaste is the latest addition to the fast-growing product line, which also includes RF2-impregnated chews and the liquid formulation Dentagen Aqua.
Last month, the company launched Prilben, a benazapril hydrochloride-based product which treats congestive heart failure in dogs and chronic renal insufficiency among cats. Other news stories from 01/09/2010
