The pharmaceutical company's philanthropic foundation the Abbott Fund is donating $335,000 (217,282 pounds) in humanitarian aid to organisations such as AmeriCares, Direct Relief International, Care Pakistan and Swat Relief Initiative.
This consists of $175,000 worth of grants, while provisions of antibiotics, rehydration solutions, vitamins and medicine worth $160,000 are also being supplied by the company.
Moreover, employees of Abbott's Pakistan operations are set to assist in local volunteer programmes, which will involve cash contributions and packaging of supplies for distribution.
The company said: "Abbott and the Abbott Fund will continue to work with key relief partners to assess and respond to ongoing needs."
