Edelman has announced the appointment of Alan VanderMolen to the newly-created role of president and chief executive officer for global practices and diversified insights businesses.
Mr VanderMolen - currently the company's president for the Asia-Pacific region - will move into the position on January 1st 2011 and will be responsible for developing the firm's global practices to deliver insight-based integrated communications solutions.
In addition, he will also help to oversee the continued advancement of Edleman's intellectual property, including the Health Engagement and Edelman Trust barometers and its annual goodpurpose consumer studies.
Richard Edelman, president and chief executive officer of the media agency, stated that Mr VanderMolen's industry experience makes him "well-suited" to leading these developments.
He said Mr VanderMolen has "been at the forefront of developing significant intellectual capital across the firm in the areas of stakeholder engagement, corporate trust, CSR and social media".
