Posted on 25/08/2010 in Animal Health Supplier News Pfizer Animal Health is launching a new three-way respiratory cattle vaccine which provides animals with protection from several common ailments.
Inforce 3 is designed to offer the highest level of protection of any vaccine against bovine respiratory syncytial virus, while also helping to reduce the danger posed by infectious bovine rhinotracheitis and parainfluenza type 3.
The drug has proven its efficacy in studies conducted by the manufacturer, showing that calves vaccinated with the drug are less likely to suffer from lung lesions and viral shedding.
Dr Victor Cortese, director of the veterinary specialties group at Pfizer Animal Health, said the intranasal treatment can prove instrumental in combating potentially costly health incidents.
He added: "Inforce 3 helps prime the immune system for a strong memory response to subsequent vaccinations, as well as respiratory disease challenges, helping offer calves a stronger, healthier start."
This comes after the animal health firm advised professionals of the benefits of calf preconditioning programmes earlier this month, stating that products such as SelectVAC can lead to animals growing larger and healthier. Other news stories from 25/08/2010
