Posted on 19/08/2010 in Pharmacy Supplier News Procter and Gamble is to donate a large quantity of health and personal care products to assist relief efforts in Pakistan following recent flooding.
The company and its partners are to provide contributions including items from its Always feminine hygiene range, Pampers nappies and Safeguard soap to assist the six million people affected by the natural disaster.
It will also ally with various charity partners such as World Vision to provide supplies of its PUR packets, which can be used to purify contaminated water.
In addition, the firm is to offer a financial contribution in excess of $400,000 (255,700 pounds) to further benefit the area.
Dr Greg Allgood, director for the Procter and Gamble Children's Safe Drinking Water programme, said: "We are grateful to World Vision and our other partners for their work to both address the needs of the flood victims and to bring attention to the need for a massive relief effort in Pakistan."
Procter and Gamble has experienced a strong year in 2009-10, with its most recent financial report revealing that the firm exceeded its forecasts in the last 12 months to record a five per cent year-on-year sales growth. Other news stories from 19/08/2010
