| Tecan and Miltenyi Biotec ally on cell biology solutions | Posted on 19/08/2010 in Scientific Tecan has signed a new agreement with the cellular therapy specialist Miltenyi Biotec which will enhance its range of offerings to cell biology sector clients.
Under the terms of the deal, Tecan's Freedom Evo liquid handling platforms are to support integration of a range of new automated solutions based on Miltenyi Biotec's MACS Magnetic bead technology.
This allows MultiMACS Separator biomolecular and cellular separation devices to be incorporated into the deck of the instruments, while software support will be provided for systems such as the gentleMACS Dissociator and the MACSQuant Analyzer.
According to the companies, this will allow life scientists to perform a much wider range of separation, cultivation and analysis processes for cells and biomolecules.
Christoph Kaufmann, Tecan's head of product management and marketing, said: "We are extremely pleased to be working together with Miltenyi Biotec to provide valuable automated solutions to our customers in this fast growing area of cell biology."
