Posted on 18/08/2010 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News Pfizer is to present the inaugural Pfizer Route Design Innovation Award to Albany Molecular Research, Inc (AMRI), in recognition of its work in advancing drug development technology.
The firm is being presented with the award following its innovative approach to process chemistry and large scale active pharmaceutical ingredient production, beating more than 40 other companies.
AMRI was selected for the prize after offering new approaches to improve the cost effectiveness of a compound specified as being of interest to Pfizer.
This awards initiative was launched by Pfizer late last year in order to assist the company in developing partnerships with firms dedicated to solving scientific challenges of this kind.
Dr Richard Connell, vice-president and global head of the external research solutions centre of emphasis at Pfizer, said: "We look forward to further collaborating with AMRI to develop this and other programmes and consider AMRI a valued partner in the development of innovative research."
Earlier this month, Pfizer published its financial results for the second quarter of 2010, reporting a 58 per cent year-on-year revenue increase following the merger with Wyeth. Other news stories from 18/08/2010
