Elsevier launches new malaria research hub

Elsevier has announced the introduction of a new web-based resource for professionals researching malaria.
Malaria Nexus has been described by the medical information specialist as a "global malaria resource", compiling research from Elsevier journals such as The Lancet, Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene and Acta Tropica.
In addition to this, the site is to include interviews with study authors and Elsevier journal editors, with feedback and user participation set to be encouraged.
John Beier, editor of Acta Tropica, expressed confidence that Malaria Nexus will be of benefit to malaria researchers working directly with the disease in rural settings, as well as those operating in laboratory environments.
Dale Seaton, executive publisher for parasitology at Elsevier, added: "As well as making our latest malaria publications free to download, we want to go beyond the article and become a leading forum for discussion between researchers, editors and opinion leaders."
This comes after the group last month announced the launch of the Journal of Geriatric Oncology, a new publication which has been developed in association with the International Society of Geriatric Oncology.
