Seven Seas has announced the launch of a new range of chewable vitamin D products as part of its Haliborange Softies range.
The consumer health company's new Haliborange Vitamin D Calcium Softies will be launched by retailers in September 2010 and are designed to promote healthy bones, teeth, immune systems and muscle functions.
According to the manufacturer, the strawberry-flavoured product has been formulated to include no artificial colours or sweeteners, as well as being gluten, yeast and wheat-free.
It states that the product has been launched in response to growing concerns among consumers that changing lifestyles mean that children are no longer getting their required intake of vitamin D from sunlight.
"Our innovative new product contains 100 per cent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin D and is ideal for children who don't get enough calcium or vitamin D in their diet," explained Seven Seas.
Earlier this year, Seven Seas donated more than one million Haliborange ACD vitamin tablets to Haiti in order to aid the relief efforts following the devastating earthquake in January.
