Posted on 05/08/2010 in Scientific Waters has posted an eight per cent year-on-year increase in sales for the second quarter of 2010.
According to data from the science company's new fiscal report, Waters product sales for the three-month period rose to $391 million (245.8 million pounds), compared to $363 million in Q2 2009.
This was attributed in part to a recovery in demand for its thermal analysis instruments range, as well as strong sales of new chromatography and mass spectrometry systems launched in 2010.
The good performance of Waters products in the second quarter contributed to a year-on-year sales improvement of nine per cent across the entire first half of 2010.
Douglas Berthiaume, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Waters, said: "We are encouraged by the improved demand trends that we saw across key markets in the quarter."
In June, the company launched new Acquity and XSelect liquid chromatography columns, which have been enhanced with Waters' new Charged Surface Hybrid technology. Other news stories from 05/08/2010
