Posted on 02/08/2010 in Pharmaceutical Company Restructures AstraZeneca has announced the appointment of medical sector veteran Dr Bruce Burlington to its board of directors.
Dr Burlington, who is a consultant in the field of pharmaceutical product development and regulatory affairs, becomes a non-executive director of AstraZeneca effective as of this week.
He currently serves as a member of the scientific advisory boards of Lundbeck and the International Medica Foundation, as well as holding a directorial role at Cangene.
The consultant also held several senior executive roles at Wyeth between 1999 and 2007, as well as enjoying a 17-year career with the US Food and Drug Administration.
In addition to his appointment as a director, Dr Burlington will also serve as a member of the AstraZeneca board's science committee.
Last month, AstraZeneca published its results for the second quarter of the 2010 financial year, reporting one per cent growth in sales compared to the corresponding period of 2009. Other news stories from 02/08/2010
