Posted on 27/07/2010 in Dental Supplier News Henry Schein has allied with Sirona Dental Systems to make a donation of oral care equipment and supplies to a new clinic in Peru.
The two companies are among the largest donors to the Diospi Suyana Hospital Dental Clinic, a facility which is being funded entirely by charitable donations and will serve the needs of around 1,000 patients per month.
Equipment and advanced technology has been provided to augment the services on offer at the clinic, which includes five consultation rooms, an X-ray room and a laboratory, allowing for the provision of extensive emergency care options.
The clinic has been founded on the principle of allowing patients to pay what they can afford, which often takes place via a bartering system.
Stanley Bergman, chairman and chief executive officer of Henry Schein, said: "We are grateful for the partnership of our supplier partner, Sirona, in this endeavour. Our work together is another excellent example of the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in addressing complex healthcare issues."
This comes after Henry Schein established a service earlier this year to assist dental and animal care practitioners affected by the May 2010 flooding in Mississippi. Other news stories from 27/07/2010
