Cook Medical has highlighted new data which illustrates the potential benefits its BIGopsy Backloading Biopsy Forceps can deliver to clinicians.
Data from two independent clinical studies on the device was presented at the recent American Urological Association annual meeting, with the trials gauging the product as a means of extracting samples among those with ureteral or kidney lesions.
It was found that the samples taken with the BIGopsy forceps were generally larger and of higher quality than those extracted with alternative equipment, leading to better diagnostic standards.
Cook Medical stated that its product can help clinicians to easily determine the best course of treatment without the need for a second biopsy.
A spokesman for the firm added: "We're pleased with these results and are eager to continue delivering the highest quality medical devices to help drive better patient care and improve the procedural needs of today's physicians."
Earlier this month, Cook Medical launched CookARTLab.com 2.0, an upgraded version of its popular online resource for assisted reproductive technology professionals.
