Posted on 20/07/2010 in Dental Supplier News Philips has posted its financial breakdown for the second quarter of 2010, reporting a 12 per cent sales increase compared to the same period last year.
The electronics firm, which manufactures dental product ranges such as Sonicare, delivered a three-month sales total of 6.2 billion euros (5.3 billion pounds), while its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation came to 527 billion euros.
This performance was due in large part to its improved presence in emerging markets, which now account for more than a third of the company's total sales revenue.
Gerard Kleisterlee, president and chief executive officer of Philips, stated that the firm's strategic planning and strong product portfolio has allowed it to maintain growth despite the effects of the recession.
He added: "I believe we remain well on our way to becoming the leading company in health and wellbeing and consider this quarter another clear step in the right direction."
Last month, Dentistry.co.uk reported that Philips was able to support National Smile Month by agreeing to donate some of the proceeds from its Sonicare toothbrush sales to the British Dental Health Foundation.Other news stories from 20/07/2010
