Posted on 20/07/2010 in Pharmaceutical Company Financials Actelion has published its financial report for the second quarter of the 2010 fiscal year, during which it experienced year-on-year sales growth.
The pharmaceutical company's product sales during the three-month period generated a total of 483.4 million Swiss francs (301.7 million pounds), an improvement of 13 per cent on a local currency basis.
In addition to this financial success, the firm also achieved a number of clinical milestones during the quarter, including the acquisition of a new amyotrophic lateral sclerosis treatment and the advancement of several compounds to phase III trials.
Jean-Paul Clozel, chief executive officer of Actelion, described the figures as evidence of the success of the firm's long-term strategy.
He added: "We are advancing our existing product sales, we are moving forward with our preclinical and clinical development compounds and we are complementing our in-house efforts with external opportunities."
In May 2010, the company presented an update on the clinical progress of its new pulmonary arterial hypertension drug selexipag, which demonstrated a positive performance in a phase II trial.Other news stories from 20/07/2010
