Posted on 29/06/2010 in Scientific Eurogentec and BD are to enter into a multi-year supply agreement for the production of molecular diagnostic technology and kits.
The deal, financial terms for which were not disclosed, will see Eurogentec provide BD with molecular diagnostic components, manufacturing technology and technical assistance for the production of commercial kits.
Eurogentec states that this agreement forms the latest part of its strategy to expand the scope of its business and increase its presence in the molecular diagnostics market in Europe, the US and Asia.
Jean-Pierre Delwart, chief executive officer of Eurogentec, expressed satisfaction with the finalisation of the deal with "a leading global medical technology company such as BD".
He added: "This is a powerful indicator of increased recognition for Eurogentec's vision and technical expertise in IVD manufacturing by commercial developers of in vitro diagnostic products."
Earlier this month, chemical company Kaneka became Eurogentec's majority shareholder, a development which will help the science firm to strengthen its research and development activities.Other news stories from 29/06/2010
