Posted on 18/06/2010 in Scientific Mast has released a new range of DNA and RNA amplification kits which allow researchers to produce faster and more accurate results.
The Loopamp kits utilise a novel gene amplification method involving isothermal reaction conditions, allowing for continuous amplification of target genes instead of the short periods seen in PCR cycling.
This allows scientists to produce large quantities of nucleic acids in a relatively short time, which means that results can be gauged using the naked eye instead of requiring extra procedures or equipment.
Other advantages of the kits highlighted by Mast include the fact that they are compatible with Eiken's Primer Explorer software, meaning users can develop assays specific to their research purposes.
The firm said: "Simple procedures, rapid results, increased specificity and minimal laboratory equipment are all advantageous for researchers using nucleic acid amplification techniques."
Last month, Mast highlighted the advantages of its range of Lyme borreliosis detection and analysis products, stating that the devices can play a key role in treating Lyme disease.Other news stories from 18/06/2010
