Posted on 09/06/2010 in Pharmacy Supplier News Johnson and Johnson has been presented with the Power of Partnership Award in honour of its work in supporting humanitarian initiatives across the globe.
The award, which was created by charity group AmeriCares and the Healthcare Distribution Management Association, is designed to honour businesses which have shown a strong commitment to expanding healthcare access in poorer nations.
It has been presented to Johnson and Johnson for its contribution of more than $136 million (94 million pounds) in medical supplies to AmeriCares programmes during the last 25 years.
This includes the provision of LifeScan glucose meters and test strips and DePuy orthopaedic devices in recent years.
Sharon D'Agostino, vice-president of worldwide corporate contributions and community relations at Johnson and Johnson, said: "Our partnership with AmeriCares is built on trust, common purpose and a commitment to helping people facing extremely challenging circumstances."
Last week, Johnson and Johnson outlined plans to expand its medical technology offering with a number of new consumer products in the coming year, including the OneTouch Verio blood glucose monitoring system and a new type of contact lens.Other news stories from 09/06/2010
