Posted on 08/06/2010 in Scientific Sartorius has announced the launch of a new range of ultrafilters designed to offer cost-effective and consistent performance in drug development applications.
The company's Sartorius Stedim Biotech division has released the Sartocon Eco series of ultrafilters, which utilise Hydrosart technology to minimise protein binding to the membrane and enable high yields.
In addition, they are designed to retain stability even at extremes of temperature and pH, as well as being highly reusable and easy to clean.
Frank Meyeroltmanns, head of crossflow product management at Sartorius Stedim Biotech, said the devices have been optimised to meet the standards required in biotechnological and pharmaceutical purification processes for the manufacture of drugs.
He stated: "With the Sartocon Eco ultrafilter series, we are providing production managers and process developers with a product that optimally fulfils these requirements."
In its most recent financial report in April 2010, Sartorius announced a year-on-year sales revenue growth in the first quarter of 2010, with its large bioreactor systems and laboratory instruments units performing strongly.Other news stories from 08/06/2010
