Posted on 25/05/2010 in Pharmacy Supplier News Bausch and Lomb has announced the European launch of a new application for the Apple iPhone which assists in the fitting of toric lenses.
The Toric Eye-App calculator provides eye care practitioners with guidance on which trial lenses should be offered to patients, as well as helping to calculate factors such as lens rotation and back vertex distance.
According to the firm, the simple and user-friendly nature of the free application will allow lenses to be fitted more "efficiently and effectively", which in turn will help to reduce patient chair time.
Dr Philip Morgan, director of Eurolens Research and co-developer of the calculator, said: "This convenient, easy-to-use tool will simplify the initial lens selection and allow eye care practitioners to rapidly identify a starting point for the toric lens selection."
Earlier this month, the firm launched Soothe Xtra Hydration, a new range of lubricant eye drops which are designed for sufferers of dry eye.Other news stories from 25/05/2010
