Abbott has been honoured as one of the continent's best employers by the Great Place to Work Institute Europe.
The pharmaceutical company was named on the institute's Best Workplaces in Europe list following a survey of employee opinions which drew from more than 1,300 companies across the region.
This means that Abbott, which employs more than 20,000 people in the EU, has now won recognition as a top employer in 16 European countries so far this year.
Eckhard Hofsaess, senior human resources director for Abbott in Europe, stated that these honours are indicative of the training and mentoring it offers to staff, as well as the support and flexibility it provides.
He added: "It's clear that Abbott employees are passionate about the work they do to improve the health of people in Europe and around the world."
Earlier this month, the company published its financial results for the first quarter of 2010, reporting a 10.5 per cent year-on-year increase in its worldwide sales.
