Posted on 14/05/2010 in Medical Company Product News Astra Tech has been honoured with a design award nomination for its LoFric Sense urinary catheter for women.
The medical device has been named as one of 31 nominees for the Design S, which recognises achievements in Swedish design on criteria such as innovation, function, sustainability and value.
It was launched earlier this year and is designed to help women with continence issues to pass urine in a way which is discreet and unobtrusive to everyday living.
Marie-Josee Michon-Gente, international product manager at Astra Tech, expressed pride at the award nomination, adding that it echoes the positive feedback it has received from patients.
She added that this "confirms that we have succeeded in incorporating the function, simplicity and quality our users and customers have requested in a discreet and appealing design".
Astra Tech states that its LoFric catheter range, which was introduced in 1983, represents the "most widely studied and published" catheter for intermittent catheterisation on the market.Other news stories from 14/05/2010
