Posted on 11/05/2010 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News Ferring Pharmaceuticals has agreed a deal to acquire the rights to Lysteda, a cyclic heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) treatment developed by Xanodyne.
The drug is a first-in-class non-hormonal treatment which has already been approved by the Food and Drug Administration on November 13th 2009.
Ferring has purchased global rights to Lysteda and plans to introduce the drug in the US market first, with further launches in other international territories currently being discussed.
The company states that the acquisition of the treatment will further enhance its reproductive endocrinology portfolio, which already includes therapies such as Menopur, Bravelle and Endometrin.
Olivier Delannoy, vice-president of Ferring's US infertility business unit, said: "The addition of Lysteda furthers our goal of providing treatments for every stage of a woman's reproductive health, including before, during and after pregnancy."
This comes after Ferring last month agreed a co-promotion deal with Xanodyne pertaining to Zipsor, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.Other news stories from 11/05/2010
