The medical device firm's quarterly sales total increased to $240.1 million (160.2 million pounds) from $217.7 in the year-ago quarter, which DJO president Les Cross described as a "good start" to 2010.
DJO international product sales played a large role in this improvement, increasing by 16 per cent year-on-year thanks to the strong performance of its bracing and support devices, as well as a recovery in the clinical physical therapy sector.
The company has therefore expressed confidence that it will be able to further improve its business prospects in the coming months through new product launches and sales initiatives.
Mr Cross said: "With a solid first quarter behind us ? we continue to view 2010 as an exciting and transformational year for DJO."
The first quarter of 2010 also saw DJO mark the production of its one millionth DonJoy Defiance knee brace, with the product having been on the market since 1992.Other news stories from 10/05/2010
