3M Healthcare has joined the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN) to announce those selected as this year's Perioperative Hand Hygiene Champions.
These are nurses and infection prevention control professionals who have been nominated by their colleagues for consistently promoting hand hygiene within their facilities and demonstrating best practice.
"It's because of the hard work and creativity of professionals that a greater emphasis on hand hygiene is present in healthcare organisations across the country," said Cheryl Pederson of 3M Healthcare.
She noted that because of the dedication and creativity of professionals such as these, there is now a much stronger focus on hand hygiene.
Ms Pederson added that all perioperative and infection prevention professionals are encouraged to become champions of AORN's best practices in their own places of work.
3M Healthcare currently has operations in 200 countries around the globe, employing 79,000 people.
It now has 16 locations within the UK and Ireland.
