Posted on 28/04/2010 in Medical Company Restructures Welch Allyn has agreed a deal to acquire blood pressure management specialist Trimline Medical Products, along with its portfolio of commercial assets.
The deal will see Welch Allyn expand its offering of blood pressure measurement products for the international market, with products acquired from Trimline including disposable blood pressure cuffs, aneroid gauges and stethoscopes.
In addition to this, many of Trimline's employees will also be offered new roles at Welch Allyn when it absorbs production activities into its own manufacturing sites.
Julie Shimer, president and chief executive officer of Welch Allyn, said the acquisition will allow the company to better cater to the needs of its customer base.
She added: "The addition of these devices into our already outstanding portfolio of blood pressure products will allow us to offer a more comprehensive range of vital signs measurement and infection control solutions."
Last month, Welch Allyn attended the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, where it unveiled new patient data management solutions designed to improve efficiency and eliminate errors.Other news stories from 28/04/2010
