Mettler Toledo and PDS to collaborate on new research technology
19 April 2010 00:00 in Scientific
Mettler Toledo is to ally with software developer PDS Pathology Data System to enhance the efficiency and security of its powder dosing system.
The science company's Quantos capsule filling device is to be integrated with PDS' toxicology software system ToxData, used for acquiring and reporting preclinical study data.
This will allow the device to operate in a more automated and less work-intensive manner, while also helping to reduce the risk of false dosings, misallocations or other human errors.
Matthias Gietenbruch, head of automated weighing and dosing at Mettler Toledo, said the agreement represents a "landmark for efficiency and accuracy".
He added: "We are pleased to be forging this alliance with PDS. They have distinguished themselves as being customer-focused and leaders in innovative preclinical software solutions."
This comes after the company was presented with an R&D 100 Award last month in recognition of the innovative nature of Quantos, with the verdict being decided by more than 50 independent judges.
