Posted on 19/04/2010 in Pharmaceutical Company Product News Novo Nordisk has begun a new international survey which is designed to collect data and opinions on the psychosocial effects of haemophilia.
The Haemophilia Experiences, Results and Opportunities (Hero) study has been launched in the aftermath of World Haemophilia Day on April 17th 2010 and will be the largest project of its kind ever conducted.
More than 1,300 people from 12 countries will be questioned as part of the survey, which will assess the attitudes of patients and their families to treatment and outline the social context of the disease.
Charlotte Ersboll, corporate vice-president for global stakeholder engagement at Novo Nordisk, said the project was important due to the effects the disease can have beyond its physical consequences.
She added: "This new programme will help us to better understand these broader effects on the haemophilia community."
Earlier this year, Novo Nordisk entered into a partnership with the European Foundation for the Study of Diabetes in order to support the charity's research into the disease over the next three years.Other news stories from 19/04/2010
