Posted on 16/04/2010 in Medical Company Product News Cynosure has presented data from a clinical study which underlines the advantages of Smartlipo Triplex, its laser-based device for fat removal.
According to research presented at the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery Annual Conference, 1440 nm lasers such as the one use in the Smartlipo Triplex can offer better fat tissue disruption and skin tightening than other wavelengths.
Study leader Dr Barry DiBernardo, medical director of New Jersey Plastic Surgery, said this was indicative of the effects wavelength and laser energy can play in fat removal, as well as the advantages of the Smartlipo Triplex technology.
Michael Davin, president and chief executive officer of Cynosure, said this research validates the company's decision to invest in the laser technology when creating the unit.
He added: "The higher-powered laser, combined with enhancements such as SmartSense with ThermaGuide, which monitors and controls the flow of energy during laser-assisted lipolysis, gives our technology a strong competitive advantage in the marketplace."
The company also revealed this week that it will be unveiling its financial report for the first quarter of the year on May 4th 2010, with Mr Davin set to detail the company's outlook and strategy.Other news stories from 16/04/2010
