Posted on 14/04/2010 in Scientific TTP Labtech has unveiled its new laser scanning microplate cytometer device Mirrorball at an industry conference.
The science firm is showcasing the unit at the SBS 16th Annual Conference and Exhibition in order to demonstrate its improved assay performance for antibody discovery.
Among the advantages the device offers are a high level of sensitivity, simultaneous laser-scanning functions and a minimal amount of autofluorescence, allowing for precise results.
The firm states that the device represents a breakthrough among laser scanning cytometers, with previous units being unable to deliver the sensitivity required by the antibody discovery sector.
It said: "Mirrorball has addressed these issues and now offers a highly sensitive, fluorescence microplate cytometer for all your antibody screening needs."
TTP Labtech has already conducted a benchmarking study which compares Mirrorball to the ABI 8200 Cellular Detection System, which demonstrates the new system's improved detection capabilities.Other news stories from 14/04/2010
