Posted on 13/04/2010 in Animal Health Supplier News Allianz Insurance's Petplan division has revealed the winners of its annual Veterinary Awards, honouring the best animal health providers in the UK.
Buckinghamshire practitioner Mike Hewitt of the Wendover Heights Veterinary Centre was named Vet of the Year at the ceremony, while the Vet Practice of the Year title went to the Mill House Veterinary Surgery and Hospital in Norfolk.
Meanwhile, Louise Want of the Feldon Veterinary Centre in Warwickshire walked away with the Vet Nurse of the Year prize, with Carol Dawson of Kingsteignton Veterinary Group in Devon claiming the Vet Receptionist of the Year gong.
Alison Andrew, Petplan's marketing manager, praised the winners for their "outstanding service" and hailed the continuing success of the awards themselves.
She said: "This is the 11th year of the awards and we received over 1800 nominations, which really highlights the high regard that the profession and pet owners have for these awards."
The ceremonies have also attracted a number of high-profile celebrities as hosts, with BBC comedian and impressionist Alistair McGowan acting as this year's compere.Other news stories from 13/04/2010
