ABPI appoints Scottish operations director
The Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) has selected Sandra Auld for the newly-created role of operations director in Scotland.
Ms Auld is a trained medical professional who was previously employed by the NHS Scottish Centre for Telehealth, having also previously worked for two different medicines companies.
In her new position at the ABPI, she will assist in informing policy decisions on healthcare, economic and education matters in order to support Scotland’s life sciences sector.
Andy Powrie-Smith, director of the ABPI in Scotland, stated that the new position has been created in order to provide the organisation with more capacity to support its members.
He added: “Sandra brings a wealth of experience to the new role coupled to her invaluable understanding of both the NHS and the medicines industry.”
This month will also see current ABPI president Chris Brinsmead leave the position and be replaced by Simon Jose, senior vice-president and general manager of GlaxoSmithKline.
