Posted on 17/03/2010 in Dental Supplier News Geistlich Pharma has purchased a new site in Switzerland in order to allow the company to expand its research, development and production capacity.
The firm has bought 10,000 sq m of land in Wolhusen in the vicinity of its existing headquarters in the area, with the site to be used as a reserve of land for the immediate future.
This purchase was made possible due to the fact that its former owner Walzmuhle is vacating the area in order to move its business to another site.
Geistlich stated that its decision to expand activities in the area is representative of its commitment to its local connections, with more than 220 staff working at its current Wolhusen and Root sites.
Paul Note, chief executive officer of Geistlich Pharma, said: "We regret having to lose our long-term neighbour. We thank [Walzmuhle's Wolhusen managing director] Adrian Kaufmann for giving us the opportunity to acquire the land."
This comes after the company moved its Root employees into a new office building in September 2009, a move described by the firm as being representative of its growth.Other news stories from 17/03/2010
