| RCVS Awarding Body given official accreditation | Posted on 16/03/2010 in Animal Health/ Animal Health surgeon news The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons' (RCVS) Awarding Body has been officially accredited under a new qualifications framework.
Qualifications, examinations and assessments regulator Ofqual has recognised the Awarding Body to operate under the government's new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF), which takes the place of the National Qualifications Framework.
The RCVS is among the first organisations to be accredited under the new scheme, which aims to regulate vocational qualifications in a more uniform manner while allowing greater flexibility for those looking to gain credentials.
It means that the Awarding Body is ratified to provide veterinary nursing vocational qualifications as part of the new system as it comes into full implementation over the course of 2010.
Awarding Body board chairman Jacqui Molyneux said: "I am delighted that, despite the tough time-frames set by Ofqual for the introduction of the QCF, the Awarding Body is on target for the new qualifications to be delivered in the autumn."
The RCVS is currently conducting its council elections, with the winners to take up their positions at the body on July 2nd 2010.Other news stories from 16/03/2010
