Posted on 15/03/2010 in Medical Company Product News Roche Diagnostics has purchased a number of array instrumentation and accessory assets from BioMicro Systems in order to produce the items in-house.
The purchase involves all BioMicro Systems products related to the Roche NimbleGen microarray workflow and includes hybridisation systems and mixers.
Andreas Gortz, vice-president of marketing at Roche NimbleGen, explained that the deal has been motivated by the integral role these assets play in the development of this equipment.
He said that transferring production to a Roche manufacturing facility will allow the firm to assume complete control over providing support and services to clients.
Mr Gortz added that this will help to ensure "continued timely distribution, full support and the high level of service our customers have grown to expect from Roche".
Earlier this month, the company announced a 20 per cent increase to its dividend, a decision which it said has been driven by its strong performance in the last year.Other news stories from 15/03/2010
