Posted on 05/03/2010 in Medical Company Product News Kimberly-Clark has been granted clearance by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Kimguard One-Step sterilisation wrap to be used in conjunction with Steris' Amsco V-Pro 1 low temperature sterilisation systems.
The company's product is composed of two ultrasonically seamed layers to allow for a quicker double-wrapping process when sterilising, saving time and money.
Meanwhile, the V-Pro and V-Pro Plus systems from Steris are designed to allow for high-temperature sterilisation using environmentally-friendly hydrogen peroxide, while also being intuitive and flexible to use.
Jay Hexamer, general manager of medical supplies for Kimberly-Clark Health Care in the US, said the ratification of the alliance between the two products will help in their efforts to prevent cross-contamination in healthcare environments.
He said: "We are pleased to join forces with one of the top sterilisation system manufacturers in the industry to help improve the quality of instrument sterilisation and the reduction of infectious microorganisms."
Last month, Kimberly-Clark approved a new dividend increase, in a move which it said reflects its confidence in its financial prospects for the year.Other news stories from 05/03/2010
