Posted on 03/03/2010 in Medical Company Product News Hill-Rom has launched a new connectivity system for its smart hospital beds, allowing the equipment to communicate patient data in a convenient and affordable way.
The medical technology firm's new bed range comes equipped with real-time data transfer elements, allowing information on bed positioning and patient condition to be sent to electronic medical records.
This allows nurses to access important medical data more easily and reduces their workflow, allowing them to dedicate more time to direct patient care.
Mike Gallup, vice president and general manager for Hill-Rom IT Solutions, said the technology's range of connection options and lack of middleware also makes it a cost-effective choice.
He added: "The amount of actionable information coupled with patient safety applications provide caregivers the tools they need to impact outcomes."
Last month, the company launched the CareAssist ES bed, a new smart bed which is designed to offer a range of IT enhancements and automated adjustment features, as well as being easily manoeuvrable.Other news stories from 03/03/2010
